Aadhaar Masking

Redact the Aadhaar and VID numbers on a card image or PDF.

Overview

Post one Aadhaar card — a photo, a scan or a PDF — and get it back with the number redacted. The masked image comes back in the same response, base64-encoded in mask_applied_image.

  • A PDF is masked on its first page only: that page is rendered to an image and the masked image is what comes back. Put the card on page 1.
  • mask_applied_image is bare base64 (no data: prefix) of a PNG. Decode it and save it as .png, or prefix data:image/png;base64, to show it in a browser.
