PII Detection & Masking

Find personal data in a spreadsheet or delimited file.

Overview

Post a data file and get back which rows contain personal data and what kinds. The matched values are deliberately not returned or stored — locating the data is the point, and keeping a copy of it would recreate the exposure you're scanning for.

  • findings holds at most 500 rows; truncated says when there were more. rows_flagged and type_counts always cover the whole file.
  • unparsed_lines counts lines of the underlying report this tool couldn't interpret. A non-zero count means the scan is incomplete — surface it rather than reading a low finding count as a clean file.
